If you only need to print in black and white documents and want to save money, we recommend the Brother MFC-L2750DW, a monochrome laser all-in-one. It gives you the same print quality as the ET-8550 but only supports paper sizes up to 8.5" x 11". If cost is a concern, you can get its cheaper variant, the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500. There are a couple of tradeoffs, like the lack of an automatic feeder and slower printing speeds. Its ink tank yields thousands of pages, so you won't need to worry about high maintenance costs. It prints very detailed and colorful photos and supports various paper sizes up to 13" x 19". If you need to print photos, get the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 instead. There are also more feature-rich models with improved security and cost management features, like the Canon imageCLASS MF746Cdw. For example, you can get the Canon imageCLASS MF741Cdw, which performs identically but doesn't support duplex scanning. If you want to save money and don't mind a few compromises, know that the MF743Cdw has many variants. It's not the fastest scanner, but it's still more convenient than scanning each page manually. For your scanning needs, it has a high-resolution scanner that produces high-quality scans, and its automatic feeder can process double-sided sheets in a single pass.
The toner cartridges last a long time, so you don't have to replace them too often unless you print a lot. It produces amazingly sharp documents and prints quickly at up to 29 pages per minute. It has Wi-Fi connectivity, and thanks to its Apple AirPrint support, you can print from your Apple device right away without installing any drivers or a third-party app. The best AirPrint printer we've tested is the Canon imageCLASS MF743Cdw, a color laser all-in-one designed for small or home offices.
